The Broker

This black and white portrait shows Liara in a new light. (no pun intended) The medium itself allows the creator to focus on the darker transformation that she went through the course of the games. Showing her in armor also kept the idea of the Broker rather than the archaeologist she was before. The features are overall well defined, with the exception of the nose. Perhaps it is the distortion of the viewing angle but it looks flat. My next issue is the lighting, the lighter shading on the forehead and the shading on the crests leaves me to believe that the light is from above, but the darkening of the nose eliminates that. The shadow line above her lips and to the left of her nose also confuses me. It does not appear to go with the lighting. A suggestion would be to have the light source behind her and to the right, this would cast the front of she face in shadow with the right side would be brighter. Overall this is a good representation of the transformation that Liara went through.
